Electrical systems and automation for steelmaking

Steel plants run on continuity: uptime, safety, traceability and fast troubleshooting are essential. Elettromar supports steelmakers and OEMs with integrated electrical and automation solutions, designed to keep complex production lines stable—even when requirements evolve during execution.

We work as a technical partner, not just an executor: from early engineering support to panel manufacturing, installation and commissioning, we help customers integrate multiple systems reduce interfaces, eliminate ambiguities and move faster from design to reliable operation.

One partner, full ownership: panels and automation for metal industry

Many steel projects involve different skids and start with fragmented inputs from multiple stakeholders. Elettromar supports customers already in design engineering phase by coordinating interfaces, integrating requirements and defining robust architectures and solutions before implementation. This approach avoid rework, reduce plant downtime, protect project schedules and shorten commissioning time, even when teams and responsibilities are distributed.

Standards Compliant Detailed Electrical Engineering

We provide end-to-end electrical design engineering services for complex industrial environments requiring high performance, reliability, operational continuity and machine safety. Our solutions are developed in compliance with standards, ensuring full documentation, traceability, conformity and integration of machine safety requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Our “Zero Default” approach enables 360-degree governance of the entire value chain, thanks to highly trained and specialized personnel, with training to work in high-risk environments where maximum competence, precision, and adherence to procedures are required. The result? Maximum efficiency in absolute safety. Even in the most complex environments.

Electrical panel solutions for steel plants

Elettromar designs and manufactures electrical panel solutions certified CE, UL, CSA.

Quality is built into the process: component selection, wiring standards, functional checks and documentation are managed under controlled procedures, so OEMs and end users can rely on repeatable results and clear project ownership.

Software Development built in-house: automation systems for steel industry

Elettromar develops control software internally — including PLC, HMI higher level functions and Level 2 / Level 3 communication systems—based on major industrial automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric and ABB, fully tailored to each plant. Software is validated through in-house simulation and FAT before commissioning, reducing start-up risks.

Installation, testing, commissioning and technical support

By integrating engineering, assembly, software testing and FAT, Elettromar ensures alignment between design and on-site execution, delivering systems ready for fast installation and reliable start-up. Our commissioning teams coordinate electrical, automation and process activities on site, minimizing downtime and accelerating ramp-up. Remote support ensures fast response and continuity.

Revamping of Automation and control system for steel plants

Steel plants often require automation upgrades while maintaining production continuity and minimizing downtime. Elettromar manages automation and control system revamping, integrating system modernization, plant modifications, power distribution, PLC and HMI implementation, software migration and commissioning planning. Our steel expertise enables complex upgrades under tight production constraints, reducing risks and downtime while improving reliability and maintainability.

Green Steel Solutions – Powering the next generation of sustainable steelmaking

Steel industry is entering a new era where renewable hydrogen and direct reduction technologies are reshaping the future of primary steel production.  Next-generation green steel plants require electrical systems capable of combining high power availability, process stability and operational reliability within some of the most complex industrial environments ever developed.

Our expertise covers the development of electrical infrastructures for advanced direct reduction plants, supporting seamless integration between power systems, automation architectures and process-critical equipment. From engineering to commissioning, we help steelmakers and OEM to deliver reliable, future-ready plants aligned with the decarbonization targets driving the evolution of the global steel industry.

Elettromar was involved in one of the world’s most ambitious green steel initiatives, contributing to the development of the first large-scale steel plant designed to produce steel with minimum CO₂ emissions through hydrogen-based direct reduction technologies. Elettromar provided the engineering and supply of Low Voltage Motor Control Centers (LV-MCC) for the hydrogen direct reduction plant within the wider Stegra project in Boden, Sweden.
